InterPlay®

InterPlay is a practice of improvisational body wisdom co-created over the last 25 years by master dancer-theologians Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter. Interplay is a great way to unwind and express yourself, whatever you're carrying, however you are. Through gentle, incremental steps that guide us to our own centers, we'll play with moving, storytelling, sound, and stillness. No prior experience necessary, wear comfortable clothes.  To learn more about interplay visit: http://www.interplay.org/index.asp

Facilitators

Gay Guard-Chamberlin: is a certified InterPlay Leader with more than 20 years experience studying and teaching bodyspirit practices in Chicago , including solo and group performance art, contact improvisation, martial and healing arts. She has a Masters in InterDisciplinary Arts from Columbia College , Chicago . As often as possible, Gay collaborates with her husband, veteran musician and artist, composer, songwriter, performer and poet, Doug Chamberlin. Come to celebrate and recharge your bodyspirit as we play with solo forms that explore the space around and within us. Then we'll compose-in-the-moment dance-stories in pairs and trios, and end with whole group improvisation.

Pam de Alth: has been following a strong desire to express herself through movement since 1990 when she was introduced to Gabrielle Rothe's Five Rhythms. She has experience with a wide variety of expressive movement disciplines including Contact Improvisation, Contemplative Dance, aka Authentic Movement, and Yoga, and with teachers including Maureen Fleming, Deborah Hay, and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen (Body Mind Centering). and Maniko (Soul Sanctuary Cycle). Drawing from all of the above, Pam leads groups in the interchange of meditation and movement, silence and sound, rest and play and the power of movement to create flow in the body, mind, and soul.
