InterPlay®

InterPlay is a practice of improvisational body wisdom co-created over the last 25 years by master dancer-theologians Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter. Interplay is a great way to unwind and express yourself, whatever you're carrying, however you are. Through gentle, incremental steps that guide us to our own centers, we'll play with moving, storytelling, sound, and stillness. No prior experience necessary, wear comfortable clothes.  To learn more about interplay visit: http://www.interplay.org/index.asp

Facilitators

Gay Guard-Chamberlin: is a certified InterPlay Leader with more than 20 years experience studying and teaching bodyspirit practices in Chicago , including solo and group performance art, contact improvisation, martial and healing arts. She has a Masters in InterDisciplinary Arts from Columbia College , Chicago . As often as possible, Gay collaborates with her husband, veteran musician and artist, composer, songwriter, performer and poet, Doug Chamberlin.

Margaret Bruder has worked as a Certified Massage Therapist and a Special Education Teacher for over 36 years combined.  She brings her body wisdom and her playful nature as well as her desire for growth to her classes. Margaret has spent a lifetime searching for healing, purpose, balance, and community and has found all of these through Interplay.  Margaret enjoys supporting others in delving deeper, playing freely, and living lighter. She appreciates that Interplay offers a chance to explore, “mess up”, improvise, and let go in a safe, nurturing, and playful environment.

Come to celebrate and recharge your bodyspirit as we play with solo forms that explore the space around and within us. Then we'll compose-in-the-moment dance-stories in pairs and trios, and end with whole group improvisation.
