Now hosted by Joette Sawall. “Belly Dance” (aka Middle Eastern Dance) is a gentle, low-impact form of movement based on individual interpretation and stylization. The movements often follow the lines of a woman's body and are accompanied by exotic rhythms and melodies. Belly dance improves flexibility, coordination and body awareness, and is a great workout for arms, shoulders, abs, and legs. Join Joette in these unique workshops that will combine the healing properties of an exquisitely feminine dance with various forms of movement (including but not limited to yoga). No dance experience required but introductory exposure to yoga may be helpful. Dress comfortably and feel free to bring a hip wrap (some will be available to borrow or purchase).

Joette Sawall, an international known instructor and classically trained dancer, combines her extensive dance background and aerobics training into a Belly Dance routine for all ages, body types, and fitness levels. Her dancing style is graceful, passionate, and mesmerizing not to mention her easy approach teaching style make her one of the most sought after teachers in the mid west. She will combine easy-to-follow Belly Dance moves into a customized workout that targets different muscle groups to match your schedule and fitness goal. All these moves interweave Bellydance basics, plus it's lot's of fun! Don't miss this easy to follow, low-impact, stimulating, and complete workout while learning to dance at the same time!
