Regular Monthly Meditation Workshop with Karina
"Psychology Today" reported on studies conducted on the brain waves of people who meditate: "Neuroscientists have found that meditators shift their brain activity to different areas of the cortex (brain waves in the "stress-prone" right frontal cortex move to the "calmer" left frontal cortex.) This calmer brainwave activity effects more than just the mind, it can help the body heal too. See what the Mayo Clinic has to say about meditation, then join us for a class.
Learn to cultivate a calm, clear and tranquil mind by learning how to meditate as the yogi's have for thousands of years. A talk, some light stretching or a guided relaxation prepares the body to sit comfortably and be guided toward a calm, steady center.

Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation)
This 30-45 minute process is quick and easy way to reduce stress while restoring vitality and mental focus!
Many people don’t feel fully rested when they wake up in the morning. Stress can block the mind's ability to access delta brain wave rhythms during sleep which are essential to healing and rejuvenation. Chronic stress can cause a variety of physical and emotional problems.
Yoga nidra is a scientific approach to relaxation. It systematically deprograms tension from the most gross to the most subtle layers of our body and mind. Yoga nidra is a unique state of restful awareness. While lying in shavasana, (the corpse pose) the body often sleeps, the mind is at rest, yet the subconscious remains active. The nidra process can, in thirty minutes, restore the nervous system as if we acquired four hours of sleep.
This guided relaxation time is open to busy downtown professionals, college students, or anyone seeking to recharge. Let a recording of a master teacher guide you into dreamy, delicious rest.
