Kalamazoo Area Community Drumming and Dance
Open Drumming hosted by percussionist Carolyn Koebel
These ongoing circles are open to anyone with an interest in exploring their relationship to drumming/movement and rhythm in a group environment. No previous experience necessary, just a willingness to listen and flow. Movers welcome!
Many instruments are available on-site, but please feel free to bring your favorite hand drums to supplement the sonic circle. These circles embrace a host of traditions, creating an eclectic, organic blend. This is a non-performance space, drawing on the strengths and contributions of all participants. As such, there is no heavy-handed facilitation, just a solid foundation on which to groove. (please no drum-set components) Donations requested.
