Prenatal Yoga - Dates

January 9 - February 13 Mondays at 6:45pm
February 27 - April 2 Mondays at 6:45pm
April 16 - May 21 Mondays at 6:45pm
June 4 - July 9 Mondays at 6:45pm

Postnatal w/Baby Yoga

Postnatal will run as a monthly weekend workshop during the winter months. See Events Schedule

 

Prenatal Yoga - Class Description

This prenatal yoga class is for women at all stages of pregnancy. In this class you’ll physically, mentally & emotionally prepare for childbirth. Learn to adjust to the physical changes to your body and manage discomforts. You’ll gain strength, flexibility and self confidence. Gentle hatha yoga and dance movements will be shared along with breath work, imagery and meditation techniques. Learn to consciously focus on and spiritually experience your pregnancy. This delightful class will enhance your ability to relax and enjoy your pregnancy with other women. Please consult your physician or midwife prior to participation.

 

Postnatal w/Baby Yoga - Class Description

Bond with your baby in this new, baby and mom yoga class, where yoga and massage strengthen the spiritual, emotional and physical bond between parent and child. The first half of the class is dedicated to mom stretching and strengthening with the baby and the last half of the class is mom helping baby stretch, as well as learning how to massage baby. The benefits to your baby include stimulated circulation, improved body awareness, improved sleep patterns, relief from gas and colic, and emotional stress reduction. Yoga is a wonderful way to help carry you as a parent smoothly through the busy early months of caring for a new baby. This workshop is ideal for babies under 18 months.

Meet the Instructor
Chelsie Downs, Sivananda Certified Teacher, RYT

Chelsie has been practicing yoga since 2001. In 2004, she received her yoga certification from the Sivananda Ashram of Paradise Island, Bahamas.  At the same time she was pursuing her parallel passion in nutritional health at The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City, completing her Holistic Health Counseling certification later that year. Since the birth of her son, Chelsie is especially fond of working with expecting mothers and children.

Chelsie does private prenatal sessions at Sangha on Saturdays at 10am or 12pm.

Registration (6 week courses)

Semester classes have a capacity of 28 participants and fill up quickly. - Register early.

Pre-registration and payment must be recieved 24 hours prior to the start date of any semester class. Participants who are interested in attending a class, but have not pre-registered before the deadline may show up on the first day of class to submit payment. However, you run the risk of the class being full, so pre-registration is always recommended.
