Teacher Training Topics:
This training program will offer a rich foundation of both information and experience from which to begin, or deepen a practice of teaching yoga. Open also to dedicated practitioners looking for greater depth of knowledge.
Lecture and practices will include:
- Classical Yogic & Tantric Philosophy
- Principles of Asana
- Principles of Sequencing
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Verbal & Hands on Adjustments
- The Energetic Body: (chakras, koshas, doshas, prana)
- Principles of Bandha, Mudra & Kriya
- Pranayama & Meditation
- Shavasana / Yoga Nidra
- Business, Ethics and Entrepreneurship
Training Format
Three, 8 Day Training Tiers. Each section runs from a Saturday -Saturday.
- Tier 1: Self Transformation Tier: yoga philosophy & psychology, energetic anatomy, exploring the "teacher's practice" of the 6 catagories of poses and the art of sequencing.
- Tier 2: The Yoga Student Body Tier: studying anatomy and physiology of the human body, the unique forms of individual student's bodies, exploring the "student's practice," and hands on corrections
- Tier 3: Applied Yoga Teaching Tier: exploring the therapeutic application of yoga for specific needs, practice teaching, the business of yoga, and teaching ethics

Certification:
A certificate of completion will be granted for this 200 contact hour program. These hours have been approved by the Yoga Alliance. Graduates are eligible for 200 RYT status if they apply to the Yoga Alliance. Students will have earned their training in the style of ParaYoga from the school of Sangha Yoga, a licensed trade school with the state of Michigan.

Book Reports
Three book reports will be required for certification. One on The Heart of Yoga and one on The Art of Joyful Living. A third book report can be chosen by the participant out of any of the required or suggested reading lists Book reports will be graded pass/fail.
Book Report Guidelines:
All book reports need to be typed and double spaced. Reports are submitted to Karina via email.
Each report should be between 3 - 4 pages long.
Each report must include:
- A one page overview/synopsis on the material covered. What is this book about?
- Three personal poins of interest. Describe three ideas in the book were most compelling YOU personally. Describe why these are relevant in regards to your teaching, your practice, or your personal life.
