About Rod Stryker's ParaYoga

(Video clip courtacy of the Himalayan Institute, 2010)

ParaYoga is rooted in the ancient spiritual tradition of yogic science. It aims to support and positively impact every aspect of modern life.  Classical Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra all inform this holistic and personalized approach to yoga practice. The ParaYoga system is widely respected for intelligently sequencing yoga postures to yield desired physical and energetic effects. It is also honored as one of the few American styles of yoga emphasizing meditation.

About this Training in Kalamazoo, MI

The goal of this program is to train yoga students to become exceptional yoga teachers with an ability to lead people (of all kinds) into practicing an authentic tradition of yoga. This program is open to all who are seeking a deeper understanding of yoga: dedicated practitioners, experienced yoga teachers, and those aspiring to teach.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Safely and systematically practice and instruct a wide range of yoga postures, vinyasa flows, breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques.

  • Become skillful at teaching a variety of levels of yoga practitioners and making hands on adjustments.

  • Create class sequences and unique themes for practice, (ie, catagories of yoga poses, time of day, specific areas of the body).

  • Modify and adapt exercizes for beginning students, people with aches and pains, stiff bodies, plus sized bodies, and pregnancy.

  • Help yoga students change thier lives, by integrating authentic yoga philosophy into group classes and private lessons. read more here

This expereince will change your life...

This program is an opportunity for dedicated yoga practitioners to delve deeply into their own practice and study. It is also a self transformation process. These 24 life-changing days provide opportunities for self-inquiry, personal growth and creative expression. Through intensive study and working closely in a closed group, the SYTT participants support one another as they become more self aware and face personal challenges.  During this personal empowerment process, trainees form a tight bond with each other. Together they learn how to become a positive force in their own lives and in their communities.

A Note from Devidas Karina Ayn

"I hope that you'll join me in this is a co-learning and shared healing process. It's the unique individuals within these groups who create some of the most valuable opportunities for us to learn and grow. Each participant's personal experiences, interests, and limitations are honored here. You are invited to come as you are, into a sacred space to awaken and "become"... Become more that just a "yoga instructor" going through the motions. Become a guide - a light to yourself and to others. Become a true teacher, become a Yoga Teacher."
