Yoga for Charity

(This class is postponed until further notice.)

Part of Sangha Yoga's mission is to "to support our global community with regular fundraising events for charitable causes." While in India in January of 2007, Karina was deeply moved by the humanitarian efforts of the Himalayan Institute. While visiting four schools adopted by the Institute, Karina learned that it takes twenty five cents per month to educate a child in rural Allahabad. Sadly, many families can not afford this minimal fee and many children are unable to learn basic social, reading and writing skills. In some cases, children are allowed to attend school but are malnourished because neither the schools nor their families can afford to provide them with a lunch meal. Education is a promising route out of poverty...

This stress reducing class is now a mix of and restorative yoga and everyBODYoga. It is an invitation to practice with a broader purpose than for personal benefit alone. The class is offered by Karina on donation, with a $10 minimum donation. Any funds offered over $10 will be donated to the Himalayan Institute to support the efforts of building classrooms, paying teacher salaries, providing supplies, and aiding in attendance.
Suggested donation $15.
No yoga experince needed, beginners of all body types and limitations welcome!
